It Saddens Me When Moms Fall for Bad Opportunities
It really bothers me when I hear about moms (anyone actually) getting suckered into a program that claims to make you rich over night. Or claims ridiculous things. That old saying “if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is” is something I wish more people would stop and think about when faced with these opportunities.
I understand how easily it can be to fall into something like that. Believe me back in January 2006 when I was starting out it could have been easy for me to fall for something ridiculous (like stuffing envelopes) had I not had Kelly McCausey to take me under her wing and show me the way.
The point of this post is that recently I had a discussion with a friend that has signed up with a program that sounds all great and everything but after further ‘investigation’ by another one of our friends asking questions at a ‘meeting’ it was found out that if the person that signs up for the program under you doesn’t remain a member for one full year you are responsible for the cost of that person’s membership.
So yeah sure she’s making money when people sign up under her but what about the people that aren’t going to end up staying a member for the full year? It’s coming back on her & she’s responsible to pay their membership.
So all I can say is I hope this friend realizes that this has the potential to be disastrous to her! If she gets several people signing up under her sure it seems all grand in the beginning but she needs to stop and think about the fact that it comes back on her & is her responsibility to pay their fees if they don’t stay the full year.
It’s sad to think that it’s presented as such a great opportunity but they leave this little fact out. The only reason it was found out was because of a very smart person knowing great questions to ask.
It saddens me that this friend (whom is also a single mom like myself) could be doing something so much more fulfilling and productive than this program. It also saddens me to think of how this could turn out for her.
