Be on the Lookout
Some people say you shouldn’t be too ‘open’ about your personal life when it comes to business. I don’t necessarily agree with that. I’m a pretty open book and once in a while like to share things going on. With that being said, I’m writing this from the heart and sharing something huge going on in my life.
You probably already know that I’m a single mom. My son (Caleb)is 12 and I have been raising him on my own since six days before his first birthday! He has talked about moving in with his dad for the last three or four years now and I always told him I would support that decision and let him make the move when and if he wanted. But to be honest, I never expected the day would come when he actually would do it! But he has.
Recently (June 12th to be exact), I packed up all Caleb’s belongings, helped load the boxes in his dad and step mom’s car and hugged my son good bye.
That was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done in life so far!
He only lives an hour away but it feels like the other side of the world! And let’s just say that where we live (Northern Michigan) that hour in the winter is going to be next to impossible to do. The winters are harsh making travel (especially from where I am to where he is) sometimes nonexistent. So, that means that this winter I won’t see my son on a regular basis and that’s not ok with me.
This brings me to a huge decision I have just recently made – moving to the town where Caleb is. This will allow me to not worry about how to get to him in the winter or if my car breaks down! Of course as you probably know moving is a huge expense! My goal is to be moved by the time he starts school (middle school at that – yikes!).
So, that gives me until the beginning of September (September 1st to be exact – that’s the date I have set as my moving date) to come up with $1500.00 which is what I figure I’ll need to make the move. That’s a pretty huge chunk of change but I know I can do it. I’m determined to make this happen so I can be with my son!
With that being said, be on the lookout for specials I’m going to be offering these next few months to help raise the money I need to make the move to be with my son!
These special offers will be on a limited basis and to a limited number of people only. Current clients and my mailing list have first dibs. So, if you want to make sure you have access to these offers be sure to sign up for my list by entering your name and email below and clicking ‘subscribe‘:

All It Takes Is 42 Days
So, what exactly am I talking about when I say all it takes is 42 days?
I’m referring to creating an information product! Yes, it can be done. So, if you’ve wanted to create an information product but haven’t been sure how to go about doing it, 42 Day Launch Incubator is for you.
What is 42 Day Launch Incubator?
It’s a step by step curriculum to teach you how to create an information product. The process includes writing articles, and reports and holding a live teleseminar event. You’ll also learn how to create a squeeze page, a short sales page and a product pick up page!
There are three different options you can choose from for the 42 Day Launch Incubator course:
- Self-Study – just as the name implies, you’ll do it on your own.
- Group Coaching – every Tuesday from 1-2:30pm Eastern you’ll meet as a group to report on your progress as well as brainstorm with other participants. You can also submit your content for review.
- “Do It For Me” – This is for you, if this all sounds overwhelming or ‘over your head’. While you’ll still be involved in the process of things being created, this is a hands off approach to getting your own product to sell.
With those options, there’s literally something for everyone that will fit any budget. If you’re going to go for the group coaching option, hurry and sign up now because the coaching starts June 12th!
Another NAMS Event Coming My Way
I’m gearing up for another NAMS conference. My first experience with a live event was back in January 2010 when I attended NAMS 3. I remember how nervous I was on so many levels…mainly having to drive through the mountains to get there
Joking aside (although I am really afraid of going through mountains), I was really nervous about being at a live event and face to face with so many people. When you work at home and are used to sitting behind your computer screen and socializing via Twitter or Facebook 99% of the time, face to face interaction can be a bit nerve wracking especially in an environment of a live conference.
But I survived and I loved every minute of it. I think I enjoyed the networking more than everything I learned! It was so cool to meet new people and hang out with those that I’d known online for so long!
So, all that to say that I can’t wait to head to Atlanta again in August for NAMS 6! This time around I’m not nearly as nervous about the event as I was for NAMS 3. Oh and in case you’re wondering I will be flying this time around

4 Reasons Why I’m Promoting your Competition and Not You
This is a guest post by one of my fave internet marketers – the Nicole Dean. I’m sure you’ve heard of her. If not, you’re missing out and need to get to know her. Nicole kind of rocks
4 Reasons Why I’m Promoting your Competition and Not You
by: Nicole Dean
Today, I’m sitting at my computer, about to launch a new site and I’m going through Clickbank, looking for potential affiliate programs to promote.
Not only am I considering personally promoting the products that I find, but I may recommend that customers who purchase my PLR articles at EasyPLR.com promote them, too.
Time and time again, I’m shaking my head, wondering if these Internet Marketers realize how many potential affiliates they are losing, as I click the red “x” and go to the next product. And, of course, this isn’t only a problem with the products listed at places like Clickbank (and it certainly isn’t a reflection of the quality of Clickbank, itself).
Affiliate Programs everywhere are lacking in their professionalism and respect for their affiliates.
It’s pretty obvious that many people don’t realize what turns off a potential affiliate. Could it be, perhaps, that the people writing and marketing these ebooks have not been successful at Affiliate Marketing themselves?
After much frustration, I’ve decided to run through my list of reasons I did not choose your product to promote, and, instead chose your competition.
1. Your page is gaudy and unappealing.
Now, we all know the saying that ‘Ugly sites sell’. That’s absolutely true. A plain blue or white background with Arial text can make millions. However, a site that looks like a sparkly, flashy mess and gives your visitors a seizure is not cool. Leave the cursors alone. Don’t stick animation on there. And, for goodness sakes, stick with only one or two fonts, please.
2. Typos and spelling errors.
This one is actually kind of frightening. If the product you’re selling is an e-BOOK then please act like you know how to write. Have a friend or even an enemy read and reread your sales letter for you. If you don’t have any friends or enemies, then pay someone. Just don’t try to sell an e-book on a sales page that looks like a third grader wrote it. It’s not going to sell. At least I’m not going to sell it.
3. You offer sales options that I won’t get affiliate credit for on the sales page.
For instance, you list an electronic and a hard-cover version of your book through amazon. Tacky! Why should I send you traffic through Clickbank so that you can make a commission on amazon? Not a chance. Or even worse, you have both a Clickbank button and a paypal button.
And, my #1 biggest irritant –
4. You’ve got google ads or actually have the guts to sell advertising on your page.
(And, no, I’m not joking here.) I don’t even need to go there. Anyone who’s a successful affiliate knows that this is the sign of death for any affiliate program.
So, there you have it. Four reasons why your competition is getting my business and you are not.
