Two Weeks From Today I’ll Be Leaving For NAMS
I’ll be leaving in exactly 14 days to embark on a road trip with four other Michiganders (Kelly McCausey, Mary Lutz, Cinday Bidar and Kim Smith) to Atlanta, Georgia to attend David Perdew’s 3rd NAMS workshop. If you don’t know what NAMS is it stands for Niche Affiliate Marketing System.
I love road trips so that’s right up my alley! As for the actual workshop itself I’m excited but nervous at the same time. I’m a total people person but that many (it sold out with more than 150 students signed up) all at once is a bit intimidating to me. However, I’m certainly excited to finally meet so many people that I’ve known online for a few years now in person!
I’ve heard great things about David’s NAMS workshops so I’m really looking forward to what I’m going to learn from attending!
Have you attended a NAMS event or will you be attending this one?

Today Is National Clean Your Desk Day
Whoever thought that cleaning your desk would be a national day?
I’m a very organized person…sometimes way over the top even, a little OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) you might say. But for some reason when it comes to my desk and work area I have a hard time keeping it organized and clean!
National Clean Up Your Computer Month
Did you know that January is National Clean Up Your Computer Month?
January is the beginning of a new year. The time when everyone is gung ho full speed ahead with New Year’s Resolutions. If we make resolutions to start the new year ‘fresh’, with a clean slate so to speak, doesn’t it make sense that our computers do to?
I don’t know about you but sometimes I forget my computer needs a little TLC (tender loving care). Right now my hard drive is cluttered with gazillions of eBooks, documents, etc that I don’t even know what 90% of them are anymore. Let’s just say I’m queen of purchasing eBooks, downloading free eBooks, etc to my hard drive thinking I’ll get back to them later only I seldom do (admit it – I know you’re nodding your head in agreement here).
Documents and eBooks are only the beginning of the cluttered state of my hard drive. Don’t even get me started on how many pictures are on here waiting for me to burn to a disc or put on a USB 2.0 Flash Drive. Or all the music and videos…yeah you get the point.
Enough picking on myself it’s time to go and do some serious clean up on my computer!

p.s. Be sure to come back tomorrow to get one tip, of several, to cleaning up your computer.
It’s Been Four Years!
Wow! I can’t believe that this month marks my fourth year working from home as a Virtual Assistant! It’s been an interesting journey – one of many ups and downs but one that I’ll never take for granted or regret doing.
I have had moments where I wanted to throw in the towel and go back to a J-O-B (thankfully such an insane thought as that only lasted a few fleeting seconds! lol). But when I really stop and think about (when I’m having one of those ‘throw in the towel’ days) the reason I’m having a moment like this it’s because I’ve let myself get to that point…meaning I’ve added to many projects to my plate or haven’t taken any down time and ‘unplugged’.
I’ve come a long way in these four years and I’m excited for where this next year (and many more years to come!) is going to go with my business. I’ve been working on some things in the background and soon I’ll be starting a regular ‘fun’ thing here on the blog every Monday.
I’m here to tell you that if you think working from home isn’t a reality or a possibility it IS! I’m a single mom supporting my son and I on my income I earn as a Virtual Assistant. It ISN’T something that happened overnight! In fact back in the beginning days I was doing all sorts of odds and ends type jobs (babysitting at my church, cleaning houses, running errands for people, etc) so I could make ends meet but be home building my VA business. It definitely takes a lot of determination, self-discipline, hard work and motivation but it can be done.
I Need Your Help!
I’m in the planning stages of a fun little project I’m going to be doing on a regular basis here on the blog but I can’t do it without your help!
I need your questions (anything about working with a Virtual Assistant, transcription, etc) ASAP. In exchange for you helping me out by providing me with questions (please feel free to ask more than one if you wish) I will provide a link back to your website.
