I’ve Been Nominated

JJNomineeI was really humbled last month when someone I had done some VA work for a couple years ago emailed me to tell me that she nominated me for the 2010 Janet Jordan Virtual Assistant Achievement Award!

This award is to honor a newcomer Virtual Assistant who has been in business for less than 5 years and has reached a milestone in their short career in the industry. This milestone needs to be an accomplishment that has helped to boost their new business to an overwhelming success.

If you’re wondering who Janet Jordan even is/was read this:

Janet Jordan was a recognized industry leader in the virtual assistance field. Mrs. Jordan’s virtual assisting career began in 1980, long before the term “Virtual Assistant” was coined. Along with running her private VA practices which included clients who spanned the globe, Mrs. Jordan also trained aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their own up-to-the-minute, compelling and relevant virtual assistant practices through Virtual Assistance U. Jordan created future leaders in the VA industry. Janet passed away in January 2006.

It all seemed pretty surreal even after I was contacted from OIVAC (Online International Virtual Assistant Convention), the great folks that put the convention on and offer the awards asking me to answer questions, submit a headshot of myself, etc. I’ve never been nominated for an award before and honestly in a million years I never would have expected to be in this position! It’s the most humbling experience ever! I mean to think that someone I worked with a few years ago finds me and the services I provide as a VA worthy of even being nominated for the Janet Jordan award just blows me away. It’s such an amazing experience and even if I don’t win the award just being nominated is an awesome experience and one that I will NOT forget!
