One More Reason Why I Love Working From Home
Working from home and the freedom it gives me is so priceless. Especially on days like today when Old Man Winter has hit with a vengeance! But even more than the fact I didn’t have to dig my way out from under a ton of snow and drive in blizzard-y conditions to get to work is that no matter how busy my day is with work I have the flexibility to take some time out to enjoy my son (usually he’s in school but because of the weather he’s had 2 snow days now).
Yesterday was the first snow day and it was fine. He played outside with some friends and pretty much entertained himself. Today…well let’s just say we’ve both been driving each other crazy!
But…
His Aunt and Uncle came to the rescue and cured his boredom and my sanity
They gave him his Christmas presents today. He will be spending Christmas with his dad and step mom (he’s leaving the 22nd and coming home the 27th) so they decided that because what they got him was perfect for a snow day they’d give it to him. He was ecstatic! He got two things that are outside winter ‘toy’s and were sure to keep him busy for many hours…and they did!
And what does this have to do with one more reason why I love working from home?
Well because I get to have a ‘snow day’ too and step outside into the lovely winter wonderland and have fun right along with my kiddo! I have to admit though I’m a wimp and only made it for about 10-15 minutes outside. Him on the other hand -- he spent hours outside! But just the fact that I work from home and have the FREEDOM to even take some time out of my work day to enjoy my son is priceless!
Here’s a video of our Snow Day Fun:
(Ok so it’s his snow day fun…all I did was stand there, shoot the video and shiver!)
If you’re where it’s cold and snowy -- bundle up and stay warm! If you’re somewhere the sun is shining and it’s 70 degrees I don’t want to hear about it
Until next time…

I agree 100%! Being a work at home mom is awesome because you can stay home and work in your jammies on these awful days. You don’t have to worry about driving out in the stuff or using a vacation day.
Thanks for sharing, Tishia. The best part is that you took the time to APPRECIATE that you could take as much time as you wanted to have some fun in the snow with your son. Sometimes I forget to appreciate that I work at home and don’t have to go outside if it’s cold (except yesterday when my Internet was down on the coldest day ever and I had to work from a coffee shop.)

Mary – Yep I was in my jammies all day today until I went outside to play
Peggy – Thanks for stopping by & commenting! I hate to admit it but oftentimes I forget to take the time to appreciate that I work from home. No internet is such a bummer!
