I go through phases with LinkedIn. Sometimes I’ll actively be a part of it – checking out other posts people share, joining in on conversations in some of the groups I’m a part of and once in awhile I’ll post a status update to my profile. I don’t invest a lot of time to it because it’s never given me a very big ROI (return on investment). There have been a few times that a couple prospective clients reached out to me but nothing ever came of it.
With that being said, I came across an interesting video from Sarah Zeldman (who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in person – she’s one smart cookie and a sweetheart too!) about using LinkedIn efficiently and getting the ‘most bang for your buck’ when sharing an update. In her video she’ll show you:
I show you exactly how to network on LinkedIn in two ways, at the same time. I demonstrate the best way to create a status update on Linkedin, and then how to share that status update with a group and start a discussion.
The next time you want to share something on LinkedIn be sure to check out LinkedIn Tip: The Most Efficient and Effective Way To Post A Status Update and Share It With Your LinkedIn Groups first.
Side note: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’d rather read/listen to content than sit and watch a video. So I was a bit disappointed to see that this was a video, and a long one too – 9 minutes. But I was tickled pink when I saw that she actually provided a PDF file of the instructions she shared in the video! I have to give her 2 thumbs up for that! I was able to look at that and skim it to see info I needed/wanted and skip over the rest 🙂
