Amazing Breakthrough

January 2006 – the beignning of Tishia Saves Time. Wow, that seems so long ago! I stop and think about how my business has grown since then – let’s just say I’ve come a long way baby 😉 Heck not even just in my business but in my personal life as well! I’ve had some amazing breakthroughs over the last 4 1/2 years.

Back in the day …

  • I worked for $8.00 an hour just to get VA experience
  • Criticism sent me running for the hills and left me feeling hurt and rejected
  • I couldn’t do anything without step by step instructions
  • I couldn’t say NO
  • I worked all hours of the night
  • I let people ‘push me around’
  • I lacked self-confidence
  • I compared myself to other VA’s and felt like I never measured up
  • and the list could go on and on

As I wrote that above list it actually made me burst out into giggles. That person seems so foreign and alien to me. It doesn’t seem like those things could be referencing me!

Today …

  • I work for $25.00 an hour
  • I enjoy constructive criticism as it makes me a better VA and person
  • I take initiative and as Nike says ‘Just Do It’  – I don’t need a client’s step by step instructions
  • NO is at the top of my vocabulary list! I say no to projects I don’t want/wouldn’t like to do. I say no to clients that want work started without paying me first.
  • I don’t stay up all night working. I work when I feel inspired to work & yes sometimes that means 2am but it’s not because I have to in order to get a project done or something.
  • I grew what you might call a ‘set of balls’ and stand up for myself
  • I’m God-confident! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
  • I don’t compare myself to other VA’s. I’m unique and being myself is what makes my business successful.
  • and the list goes on and on

I’m amazed at the breakthroughs I’ve had over the last couple years. I’d like to take credit for it but I can’t – it’s because of God that I’ve come to the place I am at today. And to think that ‘back in the day’ I listened when someone told me that God and business didn’t go together. It wasn’t until I made God the center of my business that I started having major breakthrough and growth.
